Gartner, the world's most authoritative IT research and consulting firm, recently released the 2021 Cool Vendors in AI for Computer Vision report, in which only four vendors worldwide were selected, and AInnovation was the only Chinese vendor among them. Previously, AInnovation was also selected as an "Example Vendor" in global computer vision in Gartner's report "Emerging Technologies: Emergence Cycle of Video Analytics".
Cool Vendors and Magic Quadrant are two of Gartner's most well-known awards. Cool Vendors requires vendors to provide novel or innovative technologies or services that have the potential to bring significant value to the market and business development, and may even change the existing vendor landscape in the market.
It is learned that the selection process of Cool Vendor is very strict. From a list of dozens of vendors nominated by analysts in different fields, countries and regions, Gartner's analysts went through an initial screening process, collective scoring, and multiple analyst group meetings. Then after the presentation of ideas, discussion, and voting, only a few vendors were finally selected into that year's Cool Vendors report.
In the 2021 Cool Vendors in AI for Computer Vision report, Gartner notes that computer vision is becoming a mainstream technology for specialized use cases in many industries. Many high-value cases show strong segmentation attributes, and technology providers are combining computer vision and unique data within segments to improve processes, activities and business models for specific domains and industries. Gartner predicts that by 2024 most specialized computer vision applications will be integrated into domain-specific solutions.
